Vantage Power designs hybrid and electric powertrain technology for medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles - work that began with retrofitting buses to cut fuel consumption and emissions, and grew into battery systems, control systems, and telemetry deployed across the wider push toward vehicle electrification.

Behind that technology sits a complex internal platform Vantage Power's engineers rely on to manage it - vehicle data, geolocation tracking, fault reporting, servicing, and performance, all pulled together across nine separate applications.

The team had an accelerated programme underway to build new features across that platform, and needed expert Python and Django engineering to keep pace: rapid, in-browser prototyping and UI development, built by an embedded specialist who understood the underlying architecture from day one and worked as part of Vantage Power's own team.

We placed a full-time UI and prototyping specialist directly inside Vantage Power's team, with account management and technical leadership around them, able to move at the same pace as the accelerated programme already underway.

Development ran in focused sprints, each ending in a live demo and a fully deployable build the team could test and react to immediately. That cadence let priorities shift quickly as real feedback came in, building toward a final demonstration for a wider audience across the business.

Behind the day-to-day feature work, we refactored all nine applications in Vantage Power's estate against a single structured standard - naming conventions, version control, and change tracking made consistent across the whole platform.

The relationship extended into ongoing support through a formal SLA, covering the IoT (Internet of Things) platform and its infrastructure, with defined priority levels and resolution timeframes reported on every month.

The relationship deepened over time, growing from a single embedded specialist engagement into six separately contracted pieces of work - each one a sign the value held up, project after project.

Following successful delivery, Vantage Power continuously expanded the relationship, bringing in new workstreams as new needs emerged. Their own assessment: Giant's accumulated experience on the platform, built up over several years, had become its principal advantage as a supplier - the kind of value that only compounds the longer a genuine partnership continues.

Reliability mattered as much as capability. Formal SLA reporting ran every month, giving Vantage Power's team consistent, accountable support matched to the seriousness of the platform it depended on.
